Don't get your hopes up too far.

I repeat that KiCad is my preferred CAD right now, but it has its share of
"quirks".  Somewhat frustrating to have the tool areas disappear for no
apparent reason until you mouse over them again, for example.  On the other
hand, I can usually find a part based on its common name, something I had a
lot of trouble with in DipTrace.
