So I wasn't clear, is the ASR mode you were using at the end also doing
quantization to a pentatonic scale?

My SMD technique for transistors and resistors is to put a tiny dab of
solder on one pad, align the part, solder it down, then touch up the other
pads.  I usually go back to the first pad one time with the iron, because
that's the most at risk to have a cold solder, what with me moving the part
around as I do it.

Good tweezers and fine solder and tip have gotten me by so far, even doing
some 0603 Mutable stuff.  (Of course then the very fine pitch CPU is what
messed up that project....)
