This is fairly easy.

1. Download Virtual Box here. Install it on your Mac or Linux
box. There are alternatives such as VMWare Fusion for Mac, but
VB is free and fairly well supported.

2. Next go to eBay and search for "Windows 7 license key", also
called COA (certificate of authenticity). I just did a search
and found this one for only $3.22.

3. That's just a sticker with the key necessary to register Win7.
If you don't already have the media, search eBay for a recovery
disk like this. I've also seen these on USB flash drives. You
can find ISO images of Windows XP online. Not sure about Win7.

4. Create a VM. Be sure to record the MAC address for the virtual
Ethernet port. If you have to recreate it and reinstall Windows,
you'll need a new license key unless it looks (to Wkndows) like
the same computer. MS support can be very pissy about this.

5. Install Windows using your VM and media and register it.

6. Sit back and sip latte. Trip to Starbucks optional.

I'm planning to do the same. I'll report here if there is interest.
If not I'm sure the crowd at Starbuck's will be impressed.

BTW, I have a Starbuck's GOLD card. They don't give those to
just anybody. ;)
