[sdiy] Going beyond kits

Hello Trevor

The next move after building kits should be building a module with an
already existing schematic. This will train the skills, that are most
important for satisfying synthdiy: conquering the mechanicals
challenges. Nothing is mor frustrating, than having already an
unstable/unfirm circuit, which resides in shaky mechanical housing and
on an unreliable pcb.

My first complete DIY module (pcb, and panel) was a simple mixer. There
were enough of mechanical challenges (at least for me).

And another recommendation if you want to start with circuit design too:
digital modules with simple logic based on 4xxx CMOS-series chips are
much simpler to develop than analog modules. You may start with a
trigger sequencer, a divider or similar.
