No joke about the couples counseling. Be careful how much you let this
dominate your time -- really.

Subject: [sdiy] Going beyond kits

Hi there,

I've been lurking here for the past year or so and am finally in a position
where I think I want to get serious about my newly discovered hobby before I
empty the bank account on modules and kits. I need to get into something
that will focus my attention on one project for a longer period of time. So,
I've been thinking about designing my own module, and I'd like to begin with
a VCO (unless you could recommend a more productive learning and productive
first direction).
I want to start with a simple triangle wave and build off of that.
Eventually, I would like to output other waveforms, obviously, an octave
range, and CV-in for 1V/O, LFM, and PWM.

I have breadboards, components, soldering, et al. I have Ray Wilson's book
as well, for what it's worth. I was hoping some of you all could point me in
the direction of some good instructional resources on the subject, or
provide recommendations as such (possibly couple's counseling after I really
disappear down this rabbit's hole).

Cheers...Trevor
