Right.

"Avoid duplicate” (yes) does not prevent you from getting your own posts, unless you Cc: yourself on your own posts. So it’s conditional. Since I don’t Cc: myself, and don’t have Gmail doing that for me, I never even noticed this option all the way down at the end of the list.

“Receive your own” (no) is the one that actually prevents you from getting your own posts.
