Among modifications implemented is changing VCO board.
Depending on VCO board, one problem is that TEMPCO resistors does not
sit on the expo-pair transistors, leading to poor temperature
compensation leading to instability in frequency which is something you
may or may not want to fix. I know of at least three different VCO board
versions.
The service manual and its trimmings should be followed naturally.
