Right, a graphic EQ will have the equivalent of "0" resonance. When you increase the level on a GEQ, you're not increasing the Q, but merely increasing that band's level in a straightforward mixer. There's a difference.
Increasing the Q above the point where the circuit is critically damped allows for some amount of oscillation, which should not be part of a good GEQ design.
