[sdiy] Resonator type filters

Is it fair to guess that for at least some of these applications, the
particular choice of bandpass filter/implementation is less critical than
that of the lowpass in subtractive synthesis?

My thought here (I could be wrong) is that the BP filter parameters are not
intended to undergo as many rapid expressive sweeps, and the individual BPF
in a parallel bank is not asked to shape the raw sound as decisively as a
LPF would be.

In any case, is there some wisdom about more/less suitable BP filters, say
for producing vowels/speech?
