There's one guy over here nearly done making very nice DIY polysynth. 
Sounds pretty amazing. I think he deserves more publicity.

8 voices, bitimbrality, 2xVCO, Ringmod, FM, 3xADSR, 3xLFO, multimode VCF 
12dB/oct.

He's big fan of iconic Polish synthpop band from the 80's and that is
