I built a while back a module that takes 1x(mono) or 2x (stereo) nominal +5Vpk level output, normalises it to:
2x balanced +4dBu outputs (using 2x DRV134)
2x single-ended -10dBV outputs
and a headphone amplifier (using OPA2132+BUF634 drivers)

to make life easier when plugging into a DAW or mixer and/or HiFi amplifier, or for the midnight solo when the house is sleeping. works well, no ground issues either.

It won’t do your 8 channels though.
