I also have an US-16x08. Since it has a nice digital mixing console built in, with parametric EQs and compressors for each channel, I thought we could use it as a band mixer. But alas, the guys at Tascam forgot the aux sends. No way to add individual amounts of reverb to the channels…
So we used it as a standard multichannel audio in for the computer and used MainStage as mixing console instead. This was somewhat unreliable, there were loud crackling noises every now and then. I never found the cause. Maybe just CPU overload, or an intermittent USB connection?

I just noticed, there’s a firmware update. Maybe the issue is gone now.
