But that wasn't where it started, was it? I faintly remember some news
that CERN started to support it at some point. Could be bad memory.
So they started with something weird, and added weird physicist thinking
to it, huh? If they think like an old buddy, that explains some things
;-) (they probably have dedicated devs, but that thought was fun)
Well, that probably means there will be some steam behind it for the
time being and push things forward. At least that happened before to
other OSS projects some bigger weights had taken interest in.
But still, they probably mainly develop it further for their needs &
preferences, less so for a more general target group, I guess. To make
it available for a larger group may be an added bonus, but not exactly
the top priority, i.e., they'r not exactly "targeted".
And that's what I wanted to get at with the "someone's holy pet project
where you don't have a say".
