Congratulations. I'm glad that you found the bad transistor.

I was going to point out that recapping doesn't fix every kind of problem (certainly not problems with bad transistors), and it's a bad idea to recap a synth unless you actually know that the caps are bad. You're more likely to lift a trace or otherwise cause damage that creates new problems.
