Use the linearising diodes with the bias current that they recommend in the datasheet, because they let you drive the inputs harder for a given amount of distortion, and a hot input signal improves SNR. Then drive the inputs with the largest amplitude signal that you can get away with that yields acceptable distortion. Then live with the resulting SNR / distortion performance, or switch to a better chip. That's all there is to it, as far as I know.
