Whilst not in any way disagreeing with Bernie's right to do exactly what
he wants with his own intellectual property, including doing nothing, I
must agree that I can see no sense in that particular argument.
If I had some of my own music on a cassette, and another person offered
to copy it onto CD for me for free, I would still have every right to
sell copies of that CD.
The copying is a service - which could be free or paid for - and has
nothing to do with the ownership of the IP.
David's offer looked like a genuine, generous and valuable one to me.
