I have a "few years" experience using the reverse diode to ground/polyfuse system. Add caps as you wish. Never had a burnt out pcb---never.

It is frustrating that there are no standards out there. For what it
is worth, there are a group of manufacturers who are supposed to be
working together to form a 'EuroSynth Body' but I don't think it is
moving anywhere at the moment and is probably far too late in the day
to define some 'proper' standards and will most likely have to try and
define the existing figures in to a formal document so that we at
least have some common ground to work with. If you don't use ferrite
beads then you should use a resistor of between 10R and 22R. The
diodes as shown will force the power rails in to an 'out of
specification' area so should not be used ( certainly not in that
configuration) 10uF is ample especially given the number of modules in
any system and the inability for some supplies to handle large inrush
currents Best Regards Laurie Biddulph Mobile: +61 0400 257 645 Phone.:

for all of the feedback so far. Here are my notes: Boxed Header This
is what I plan to use. Maybe my pin umbers are off. I was going by the

should just not use it? Resistor Don't use it? Ferrite Bead Some
people are telling me outside this list that ferrite is more for
digital stuff and that the capacitor should be fine. If I don't use
the ferrite then should I use a resistor instead? Capacitors Only use
the larger one (I use a 0.1uF bypass cap at each IC anyway). Some say
increase and some say decrease. In non-modular stuff I usually use
larger ones, so I am leaning towards 22uF. I wish that there was a
standard for this so I knew what to do :( On Tue, Jan 3, 2017 at 4:52

noise reduction. Remember the rails in Eurorack case can be noisy. 10
ohms is okay for a module that pulls little current. I use 1 ohm. Some
years ago, Tony Allgood mentioned that he had to switch from 22 to 2.2
µF per rail because the surge current from lots of 22 µF capacitors
in parallel made certain Power-one supplies misbehave on power-up. But
that was with ferrite beads, not resistors. -- André Majorel
