that is a good hint. I'll look into it.
It looks like a very early yellow unit serial 555.
No idea about its story, found it used, broken and cheap ;)

Maybe I'll hook up the logic analyzer to the SRAM and have a look.
Yesterday I was probing the flash and it seems to be still ok.
