Interesting stuff.  I did a project on "Multispectral Imaging" for a 
customer last year that had 15 unique wavelength surface-mount LEDs on a 
PCB.  It looked very pretty when sequencing through all the colours, 
although the deep IR and UV ones were hard to see or even hazardous to look 
at!
