Note that Analog Devices are now providing a tool that looks like Dr. Beckman's. I stopped by the local SHARC developer's desk earlier this month and he was developing without writing a single line of code, using a new tool from Analog Devices that is entirely based on graphical building blocks with parameters to provide the specific details. I don't know whether they're free or not, but I got the impression that they are. It's great for any company that is expanding their developer team and are having a hard time finding engineers who can write SHARC assembly - this new AD tool alleviates the need to write any code at all.
