[sdiy] Reverb Tanks

The mention of reverb tanks has me curious: What type of currents / P-P voltages does a “standard” reverb tank like to see?
I have a mid-60’s Gibson Sabre “transicord” amp collecting duct in the basement. Someone swiped the horn and reverb tank from it, then gave it to me for free.… so thought I’d ask. I may resurrect that pig some day and turn it into a bass amp or something.

No, you need current delivery on the driving end, not a lot of gain. You will need hefty gain at the receiving end, to get the signal back up to normal modular level.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure it would need a lot more gain to drive a spring!

Could have used it to drive a (improvised) plate reverb or a slinky?
Regardless, congrats on the award.

So, I had to stretch my imagination a little bit on this one... How do you make a compelling demo patch to feature a headphone amp?
