I don't know if you know but I worked at MM at that time and worked with Leo on finalizing the design and pcb layout. I don't know/remember who chose that part in the first place - I suspect Tom Walker. Looks like Mouser is selling the IC die. Is that for installation and epoxy coat on a board (COB) or what?
