Hi Alan,
They can print objects that can be used to make molds.
In addition, there are filaments that will print using a wax-like material that can be used for lost wax casting. I don't have direct experience with this--my 3D printer is scheduled to arrive Monday. But I've used my CNC machine to mill wax for lost wax casting.
Either way, I have to think that this is a very expensive way to make knobs!:-)
Thanks,
Ole

This allows ceramics (with powder-printed molds) or other materials. It's also much faster and more dependable than 3D printing, where a single glitch in the middle of a printing session can ruin an entire part.
