If this is to be used to drive the select lines of a switch, as hinted at
recently... maybe an ATmega328 or similar? You should be able to drive at
least four 8-way switch ICs with one microcontroller.
Could also use a larger quantity of the ATtiny family ICs (eg. ATtiny84),
but I specifically picked the ATmega328 because you can use a super-cheap
eBay Arduino Uno R3 knockoff for easy prototyping
