Hehe. I'm only here for maybe 1..2 years max.
I wonder how my life would have been different, had I known the list end 1990s. I was a teenager in the 90s.
My father was an EE, so I had tinkered with very simple circuits. But then, a class mate dumped his very outdated Commodore 64 at my place. I initially played games, then stumbled upon the handbook's BASIC section and realized I could do stuff myself. From then on I was sort of married to the computer and forgot all about electronics, to find may way back to it only a few years ago now.
I'm pretty sure that synth DIY would have captured me as easily, although, doing HW stuff being a lot more expensive could have been an inhibitor.

seems I’ve been on this list for 20 years now - the first message in my private archive is from April 24th 1997 (that message was from Neil Johnson BTW).

Oh, I feel old now…
