Got to admit I'm interested in both the 2144 and and 2164.
do they have a website? I used to be in contact with them but since leaving Modal I've lost a lot of contacts.

I was at Superbooth, chatting to Dave Rossum about these chips.
The 2144 includes improvements to the Q control circuit for better matchingof response between chips.
He stuck with the Wilson current mirror design (which he used to get round Moog’s patent) because it lets the chip run down to 4V.
Bigger news than the SS2144 from the SDIY pov I think will be the SSI2164, which is an SSM2164 with improvements by the original designer.
That includes a fix for the missing power rail dead chip problem.
Fabbed by Diodes Incorporated in China.
They’ve had samples they’re happy with, and are going to production soon.
Pricing for the 2164 will be similar to the 2144.
Happy days :)
Cheers,
