Bigger news than the SS2144 from the SDIY pov I think will be the SSI2164,
which is an SSM2164 with improvements by the original designer.
That includes a fix for the missing power rail dead chip problem.
Fabbed by Diodes Incorporated in China.
They’ve had samples they’re happy with, and are going to production soon.
Pricing for the 2164 will be similar to the 2144.

Now that is interesting news! I like that they have improved the 2164 not
just Behringer-like clone. I wonder if they worked with Doug Frey on the
improvements?
