Do you clean your boards before you solder them?
If you are painting, gluing or soldering you always want to clean the
surface first.
For PCBs I use either a Pink Pearl eraser (abrasive) or a scouring
powder like Comet or Ajax. Wash with water and then wipe the boards with
alcohol.
