[sdiy] SynthDIY vs guitarDIY?

Guitar pedals were definitely my gateway drug into SDIY in addition to circuit bending. Sometime in the 90's my dad gave me a copy of Craig Andertons Electronic Projects for Musicians and that was the beginning of the end :)
The market is huge and I work with a lot of students who also seem to take to building a guitar pedal kit from Build Your Own Clone or similar rather than trying to dive into euro rack stuff etc (which many eventually get to) as a first project.
