Hello
> I have to say, it looks a bit brutal, what it does to the wood.
You don't hammer it in. I found the english word "drive-in nut". This
describes it better:
You simply drill a hole, then insert the nut until the spikes sit on the
wood, then you insert a suitable screw with a wide washer from the other
side, and finally you tighten the screw. The screw will pull (or better:
draw?) the nut with the spikes into the wood. There is no splicing, no
trashing. I use those all the time to mount wheels to my cheapo
Thomann-cases.
If you are in doubt, then test it with another piece of wood.
