It's still better than Radio Shack in many ways, but anything that's
actually silicon is NTE. I've bought a few NTE devices that, when you look
at them in a cross light, are obviously some other part with the NTE part
number silkscreened over it. I could take a picture of a couple of
optoisolators (4N28 or similar) if anyone doesn't believe me.
It's a shame there aren't more brick & mortar electronics shops even in
large metros (only found one in all of Chicagoland, with a few cycles of
looking, and they too carry almost exclusively NTE parts).
