Don't know about the proprietary apps but I don't see why they'd be any different - but certainly in Kicad you can easily draw your own symbols and have your circuits look any way you want.

I'm (slowly) working on a set that resembles the old "Letraset"-style symbols used in the 1970s and 1980s electronics magazines like Hobby Electronics, ETI and Practical Wireless that I grew up with :-D
