[sdiy] Better waveforms of our nature

Thanks to Don for posting his waveshape results. It's really great to
see someone else interested in non-traditional waveforms!
I've been pounding the table about going beyond the usual standard
waveforms since the mid '70s. For example
ELECTRONOTES #68, p 20; #72, p 21; #73, p 7; several pages on my website:
http://ijfritz.byethost4.com/sy_over.htm (links to five novel waveshaper
designs)
http://ijfritz.byethost4.com/MiscProj/misc_lnk.htm (link to the Double
Deka); several youtube demos
https://www.youtube.com/user/frijitz001 ; and numerous forum threads.
I have been fortunate enough to have had four of my designs made
available commercially (the 5 Pulser; the Wavolver; the Double Deka;
and the Analog XOR.)
I've recently gotten Bernie Hutchens interested in some of this work,
which he published a couple of months ago in ELECTRONOTES #228
http://electronotes.netfirms.com/EN228.pdf
Just a couple of comments to expand on Don's work: While the Square and
Sawtooth are quite bright, clearly one can go much further. For example
the common variable pulse signal has harmonics which are all of equal
amplitude in the extremely narrow (delta function) width limit. While
this waveform contains all harmonics, its anti-symmetric double pulse
cousin has only odd harmonics.
Waveforms with even-only overtones (I don't us the term "harmonics",
because of the n=1 term) have been looked at many times in the past.
The EN228 link above has a detailed analysis of this waveform type. To
me, they always separate, ie I hear a Sin wave plus another tone an
octave above, so I never spent much time on them.
