Hallo Peter - thanks for that!
I think the internal schematics drawn in this old docs are accurate, as is the µA709 I found in the same docs. (the 709 I could check, the “514” … I just don’t know)
My reproduction if this schematics is - except for the part labels - as I found it in the papers.
Alas, I can’t see how a comparator could help building an audio volume controller.
My point is to complete the docs, not to build the controller - I’d take a VCA or multiplier today.
