The interesting thing here is while you're clipping the input 
differential, there are the two additional zener diodes connected to the 
ground. These will clip if either input is Vzener + one diode drop above 
or below the common ground.

This does beg to be breadboarded...

The presence of 60mA fuses on the inputs/output indicates they must have 
been living dangerously :)
