An equally belated recollection - back in '88 or '89 I worked for an 
electronics engineering firm in my hometown [1] that specialised in 
audio gear.  I'm all but sure we had TI TL-071's that we used in one of 
our line mixers that had that same style of silver/reversed labelling.

As far as I recall there was nothing special about them - a cosmetic 
change by TI to make the product stand out amongst dozens of other 
boring looking 8-pin DIP packages of the day.

They would have been purchased from the Australian agents of the time, 
vague idea they were called VSI Electronics.

So what you've got might well be genuine, if old.
