[sdiy] From a commercial standpoint -- has Eurorack "won"?

To a large extent, yes - but that certainly doesn't mean there aren't
alternatives.
I've had a few people suggest I'm missing a trick for i) not upping
production to meet demand & ii) porting things over to euro
But my ways work for me!
I ruled out wider DIY a long time ago - one has to focus. (though
someone did recently do the Orgone Accumulator in banana frac format)
Interestingly, given the comments on 'playing live', my reason for doing
my own niche of the existing frac niche was that the general prior fracs
were too damn deep (due to perpendicular PCBs etc).
I think a lot depends on what people/makers want to achieve - I think a
lot of euro module offerings come really from 'hobby' (in no ways
denigrating) - there are only a relatively small handful of big players
(Makenoise, Intellijel, etc)beside the wider industry big-players who
are dipping their toes (Moog, Roland etc)
Best, Tom
