I am using a Cirrus Logic - Element14 audio board. The onboard audio is
said to be 10 or 11 bits depending on the source. I wanted better
audio. This board claims HD quality with up to 24 bits 192 ksps stereo.
In fact the presence of the driver for this board I believe disables
the standard driver (not at all sure about that). Anyway I've never
used the Pi 2 audio stuff that's on the board.
Pi3 is interesting, faster CPU, but currently (and please correct me if
I'm wrong) while the hardware is 64 bit, all that is available is a 32
bit OS for it. (32 bit compiled with a 64 bit compiler? I dunno so
don't hold me to that either)

Dunno enough to be helpful here.
