As an aside, David Evans (Prof. at U. of Virginia) is a big fan of using it to teach operating systems classes.
As another aside, Jonathan Blow (designer/programmer of the indie games Braid and The Witness) has been developing a language targeted towards high-performance game programming. He’s done some videos on his thinking on it, and demoing features. They’re all over his youtube timeline:
