Ah, I assumed it was simply something for the catalogue, but it is more a custom development.80k seems a low number for this though, are they using old wafer stock? I mean, a set of masks is a couple hundred k already, apart from all of the engineering hours required.But they are giving quite a discount on larger orders, which I wouldn't expect if they are using wafer stock (unless they are sitting on a lot of stock).Regards,

No doubt they were fully aware of this new supply of these chips and not making them available to others would have given them a competitive advantage. This is actually quite normal - there are many custom ICs designed for specific requirements for customers that are not available on the open market. Neil
