For optimum noise, the first stage of the amplifier cascade should have the
lowest noise figure and the highest gain of all stages. There's plenty of
literature that will walk you through the necessary calculations. But as
Roman noted, noise is not the only consideration for high-gain amplifiers,
so the overall optimum might be someplace else.
