Check out Eddie Ciletti's website

One thing I did years ago was to reverse the fan and add a filter on a
DA-88. The fan was originally set up to blow out the back, which drew
dirt through the front tape slot and onto the heads. I think I got the
idea from this site

Loved the DA-series. Used to work in a studio with a pair of 88s and a 38
(later replaced with a DAW)

Subject: [sdiy] DIY Tascam sync cables?

Hi, I managed to acquire a pile of Tascam Da78hr and da98hr recorders with
low (200) hours for a very low price. It would cost a whole lot more to buy
the PW-88s sync cables for these at current eBay prices than I paid for all
the decks, and that doesn't even count the audio snakes I'll have to buy or
build.

I can't find a pinout for the PW-88s sync cables or the terminator plug so.
So I want to disassemble a working cable so I can learn how it is wired.

Any suggestions on:

How best to take a plastic sealed db15 end-piece apart

Best/cheapest place to order the parts to build my own cables

Are there db15 sockets that allow you to remove the pins you don't use?

How I might go about building a db15 terminator for the chain?

Joel
