Any small (or large) mains power transformer is optimised for 50or 60Hz, so there is no problem going low.
The high end might be lacking, though... so you need to experiment, maybe with some high end boost either before or after.

i'm currently trying to figure out how to get reasonably affordable transformers for a passive ring modulator.
i'm finding that terminology like "audio transformer" does not necessarily correspond to a 20hz to 20khz frequency response - and that those types of transformers seem quite rare & expensive. i realize low frequency is a perpetual problem in the x-former world, but it would be nice to find something that reliably reached a low of 100hz.
i was wondering if people had any go-to sources for the kind of solution i'm looking for.
