So, a "high-pass gate"? I'm not sure that would work well in the original
application of replacing a relay for effect bypass, but I like the idea
for maybe other applications. I frequently see people wishing for "fast"
envelopes that (they think) won't click; and they take surprisingly long
to figure out that the faster the switch is, the louder the click will
be. One can simply slow it down until the click goes away, or attempt to
synchronize the gate with the signal's zero crossing - which will NOT
eliminate the spectral blip from switching the signal suddenly, but will
at least spread it out in a way that may make it less perceptible. A
quickly-swept high-pass filter seems like it'd be another fun
thing to try.
