I definitely favor the "Ian method" :) with the added zero adjust 
trimmer mentioned further down.
One thing dangerous in the Moog matcher is the fact that the collectors 
of the DUT transistors are wired directly to the + or - rails and the 
bases to ground. If you inadvertently put a PNP transistor in the NPN 
socket or vice versa, you'll have full power supply current flowing thru 
the CB junction and fry the DUT transistor!
