I'm also wondering if this difference between F3 and F4 is simply due
to the F4 operating at a larger clock speed, having more storage and
more peripherals, and usually being paired with RAM, displays etc on
those devboards - all ingredients contributing to more digital
noise...

Or is there truly is a difference in ADC design between the F3 and F4?
(not speaking of the 16-bit sigma-delta ADCs specific to the F373
series...)
