I know the "auto-bend" function in the old Roland SH-series, which is 
achieved by an Decay-only envelope (of course an AD, but with Attack 
always set to fastest), and the pitch envelope in the Yamaha DX-series. 
In both cases expo curves are used.

The pitch envelope in the DX synths is a 4-stage rate/level envelope 
with provides a "sustain"  stage. The sustain stage corresponds to the 
unmodulated pitch.
