Hi cheater00,

crosstalk between triodes in the same tube exist. On the internet I
found reports of crosstalk as worse as 48db in dual triodes.

Considering, that the V5b is running at a gain of approximately 30db
that could be the culprit.

In your case I would try out a few 12ax7 tubes and check if the
situation becomes better. If you don't have any at hand you may also
swap the existing tubes around.

Regarding a good tube forum: I hang around at
http://www.tube-town.de/ttforum/index.php almost daily. Very friendly
and lots of competent people there.

It's a German language forum, but everyone is fine with a thread in
