Interesting but I've always found Doug Self's articles to be a bit "woo audiophile".
The signal chain from my guitar through the amp to the mike and its preamp and then the mixer, then the recorder, then the mastering recorder, then the player, the amp the player is connected to and finally the speaker has got hundreds of electrolytics in it.
Why can't I hear this non-linearity, if there's so much of it?
