I also have a kickstarter idea or two...Check out the Teensy 3.5/3.6
kickstarter for a great example!
I think the key components to a tech-starter is. A good background on the
project, show the timeline of prototypes (lots of photos), and where you
plan to take it with the new funds. A short introduction, explanation and a
few good demos IN A VIDEO helps a ton to get your idea across. Really I
think all kickstarters need a good video clip to reach your ADHD audiences
who can't be bothered to read. Also if you already have the devices you can
sell them on Tindie.com , the electronics store for selling like etsy
straight to the buyer.
